The Perfect Sparkler Send Off
You have probably seen all the photos on pintrest of sparkler send offs, and they are indeed amazing. However, it takes more than just a good photographer to create such epic photos. Here are some tips and tricks to creating the perfect sparkler exit at your wedding.
Check with your venue before you start planning a sparkler exit. Some venues, even outdoor venues, may not allow them due to safety and fire hazards. If they do allow them, there might be a certain area where it is allowed.
Make sure you buy good quality sparklers. Bad quality ones will look dull in photos, and may even let off more smoke than light. It is also important to pay attention to the size of the sparklers. The perfect size would be around 16 inches, and I would recommend buying them from a reliable source.
Always buy extra sparklers. Not only for the amount of light more will give off, but you also do not want to run out before every guest has one.
Safety! Safety! Safety! Yes sparklers are fun and beautiful, but they are also a fire hazard. Make sure you are following the safety guidelines set by your venue. I would also recommend keeping the sparklers out of sight until it is time for your exit. With the party atmosphere at weddings, it could be a safety hazard to have them on display. If you want photos of a sparkler table, you can have them out for the photo, and then put them away afterwards.
The timing of your send off is also important to note. The earlier you do it the easier it will be to organize your guests. At this point it might be a “fake send off” but it is still a fun thing to do! You can time it so guests who are ready to leave can go, but there is still more time for dancing afterwards!
Finally, be sure to remember a lighter! You can't have sparklers if they can’t be lit!
Remember this is your day, and no matter what, it will be beautiful and memorable. So sit back, relax, enjoy the moment with your new spouse. Happy planning! (Sarah T)
